In FAMILY FUN, Selina Zürrer explores her childhood in the Circus Fliegenpilz and the loss of her father, who worked there as a clown. Selected objects that are connected to his clowning activities or the circus period and which are still in the family‘s possession are documented on the archive cards. The artist, her sister and her mother‘s memories relating to these objects are listed on the back of the cards. The systematic categorisation of these circus objects allows an insight into the family memories and leads to an examination of the value and meanings of the memorabilia, as well as their transformation through the work itself.
